For more than a year, St. George's Caye Resort has been proudly fostering a relationship with **Stella Maris Special Education & Life Skills Learning Centre** — a relationship built on community, compassion, and a shared belief that every child deserves to be seen, supported, valued, and given the opportunity to learn.
As a teacher-owned resort, this partnership holds a particularly special place in our hearts.
**A School Built on Compassion**
Stella Maris has been part of Belize's educational community since 1958, when its story began with the needs of a young boy who had lost his sight and could not access education through traditional means.
The school was founded through the vision and compassion of the Pallottine Missionary Sisters, who recognized the need to create educational opportunities for children with disabilities — opportunities rooted in dignity, inclusion, and possibility.
What began with one child has grown into an important institution serving children with different abilities and their families throughout Belize.
Today, Stella Maris provides much more than a classroom. It is a place where students can learn, develop life skills, build confidence, discover their abilities, and be surrounded by people who believe in their potential.
**Seeing the Work Firsthand**
Walking through the classrooms and seeing the work taking place every day has made this partnership personal for us.
There is something incredibly meaningful about being able to look beyond a donation or a sponsorship and actually connect with the people and the work being supported.
We have seen the creativity, patience, dedication, and heart that go into creating an environment where every student has the opportunity to learn and grow.
